Seasoning Logs

At HB Services we use the waste wood form our customer's gardens to produce fire wood for log burners in the winter. This is a variety of hard and soft wood which is stored in dry sheds on our site.

You can do this in your garden with fallen trees etc. throughout the year. Ensure you store the wood in a dry place for a minimum of a year, ideally longer, to ensure it i

s completely dry and produces the best heat when burnt inside.

Ash is a log which can nearly be burnt straight away from outside although Laurel requires a long seasoning to prevent it releasing toxic gases.
